Week 12
I have succesfully created three different NFTs.
The first NFT is vaccine proof:
Second NFT is a scan of a physical artwork: I drew this colorful piece full of different squares. It reminded me of tiles which is why I called it Text Tile.
The Third NFT is of a digital artwork that I created using Blender. I included a still image as well as a loop, making it technically two seperate NFTs:
For the still image I included "chillin'" in the title since there is no movement.
For the animation I used "Cruisin'" in the title because the pink block is smoothly moving in a circle.
This project was one of my favorites that I have done thus far at NYU. To be able to work on an NFT focused project simultaneously to the rise of the NFT market is incredible. I am a strong believer in NFTs and their capabilities. I was able to display that belief in three different ways. First, the vaccination proof is also super timely as this could actually be a very useful tool for everyone who is vaccinated. Secondly, being able to spend more time on Blender has also made me appreciate the difficulty of creating digital art. For an artist like Beeple, who has made one every single day for 14 years now, I now understand all of the hours that he had to put in to know the ins and outs of these software programs to be able to now create extremely detailed works in just a couple of hours. Lastly, I was able to create an NFT for a physical drawing that I had done. I believe the technology to track a physical piece with an NFT still has some developing to do, however, it is still cool to know that you can. This serves as more of a proof of concept.
